Being an Italo-Argentine child, I was raised between Spanish and Italian which sparked my love for languages. I’ve studied English-Spanish Translation and English as a Second Language Studies at the University of La Plata, Argentina and when I was 19 years old I started teaching English back in my country both in the public and private sectors: in primary, secondary schools and in English private institutes for all ages: children, teenagers and adults.
Also, I taught translation skills to University students from different course of studies. I used to translate different types of texts of different disciplines for private companies which I found really interesting and challenging at the same time. In 2012, I decided to move to London to experience in flesh the native language and the culture. It was only a year later when I became a Spanish teacher. I have been teaching Spanish for KS3 and KS4 in outstanding Secondary schools in London with great results for 11 years.
I was also the manager of a children’s language school in North London and taught after school kids clubs. In my classes, I am enthusiastic about bringing real Spanish and Latin American life experiences and culture into the virtual classroom and enjoy delivering a range of different teaching methods and strategies.
In my free time, I love going to the theatre, cinema, concerts, art exhibitions as well as reading about neuro science and coaching but what I certainly enjoy the most is to socialise either with my friends or meeting new people.
Teacher in French and in English with a deep interest in prosody and a background in music, I contemplate the nuanced forms essential in language transmission. My extensive experience and professionalism have honed my teaching progress, enabling me to tailor my approach to various proficiency levels and consistently achieve excellent results with my students.
Currently, I serve as a distinguished member of the Rennes Rectory Education Nationale, instructing English as a supply teacher and previously teaching French as a foreign language. Moreover, my tenure includes invaluable engagements with children including those with special needs, within diverse educational settings such as a Freinet School (primary cycle 3) in Nantes, where I catered to autistic and behaviorally challenged students.
Drawing from a rich tapestry of international experiences in the Netherlands, USA, and England, I have been imparting English language skills in France since 1999. Proficient in English, Dutch, conversational German and of course in French, my pedagogical approach seamlessly transcends language barriers, underscored by my ability to craft dynamic instructional sequences adaptable to any linguistic context.
Passionate about fostering learning environments conducive to growth and excellence, I embody patience and empathy in my interactions with students. My repertoire of skills encompasses designing and executing tailored teaching sequences, imparting theoretical and practical knowledge through diverse methodologies, and conducting comprehensive assessments to gauge student progress accurately.
Furthermore, I specialise in fostering conversational proficiency, reinforcing grammatical foundations, cultivating cultural awareness, and facilitating translation exercises. Leveraging interactive methods such as games and songs, I endeavour to make learning engaging and enjoyable, thereby fostering a lifelong love for language acquisition.
Finally, I am highly interested in subjects as Cooking, Artistic Expression (such as Cinema and Visual Arts), Traveling and Literature.
Our dynamic approach to teaching is interactive and fun yet professional, structured and personalised providing all the tools and resources any student requires to communicate in their chosen language from the beginning, while also allowing time to master the language eventually.
Our approach relies on the belief that students should not only learn grammar and vocabulary while establishing how to read and write but also facilitate students’ ability to speak comfortably in real-life scenarios. Therefore, role-play and conversation play an important part in our lessons.
We aim to give you an insight into other cultures, making you aware of the rhythms and the nuances that make each language so unique and appealing. We aim to practice all the skills involved when embracing a new language: the reading, writing, listening and speaking elements of our lessons are integral to the overall learning environment we like to create.
We offer a safe space so that students thoroughly enjoy the classes: a place where people feel free to be authentically themselves. We champion student participation: asking questions and contributing to the supportive atmosphere, we foster here at Language Connections. It is worth noting, our bespoke approach is suitable for both teenagers and adults.
